Kitchen Renovation Day 2
So today was demo day in the kitchen and like any project stuff came up. The counter tops came out great. However, when it came to the back splash the wall was not sealed properly and the tile was glued to the wall!!! Should be a relatively easy fix but that was our first speed bump. Dinner last night was challenging and washing dishes in the bathroom is annoying. There is a ton of drywall inside our cabinets and everything will have to be washed. Counter tops tomorrow. Sink hook up Wednesday.

Pretty Kitchen Day 1
I will digress from some baby posts and tell you about a project that is taking over our lives. Lee and I have a love-hate relationship with our kitchen. Lee loves cooking in it but cleaning it up it horrible because of the tiles that are the counter tops and back splash. Basically little coffee grounds are impossible to get up. Also, there is a hole in the laminate floor that was covered by a rug that make cleaning the floor no fun.
Lee and I decided to fore go our winter vacation this year in favor of remodeling our kitchen. We found a steal at Lowe's Home and Improvement on counter tops. We were okay with solid surface because we knew granite would be out of the question. When we went to Lowe's they had granite prices $3 more per square foot than solid surface (plus a free sink). We were sold!!! Lee is taking out the current counter tops to cut the cost and putting up the back splash and we are doing laminate floors probably from Sam's Club.
Here's to our kitchen renovation week!

It's in the Diaper Bag?
Okay, so I was inspired by a blog I follow for this post. Basically Kate opened her purse took a picture and posted it. It was surprisingly interested and I was intrigued so... for my own spin off that post here we go.
1. Eddie Bauer diaper bag - Seriously I do not like this diaper bag at all. I am currently searching for another bag. This bag is not good because the straps get twisted up like crazy and that is annoying and looks strange. I am thinking about upgrading to an LL Bean zipper tote.
2. Pampers Little Movers - Diapers of course! Its a diaper bag. I like the Pampers but I am going to give the Sam's Club diapers soon so I'll report.
3. Wipes - An essential for diapers and all situations.
4. Plastic grocery bags - For stinky diaper disposal.
5. Butt Paste and other assorted diaper rash creams. We have not had a really bad bout with diaper rash but I fight it preemptively.
6. Crocs - Totally necessary because they are so darn cute! Even though E is much more interested in chewing on them rather than wearing them, but ESSENTIAL!
7. Pile of socks - E's favorite activity is taking off her socks. Really the only way to keep anything on her feet is with tights.
8. Hand Sanitizer. I'm not a complete germ-o-phob but I am getting there.
9. Blanket. Its winter!!!
10. Nursing cover. This is a great nursing cover because it has a little peep hole so you can see what the beebster is doing and still be covered.
11. Puff-lets. Well actually the Gerber Puffs are not in the pic because we are fresh out but Puffs are a MUST!
What is essential in your diaper bag???

A few of my favs...
This post I will digress from Bibita details and mention a few things that make my life a bit easier...
1. Grandmas who shower the bibis with lots of love and attention (and lots and lots of clothes)
2. Bouncers and jumpers to contain E so she does not roll out of the door
3. Britax carseats. This weekend we just upgraded E's carseat because the carrier is getting a bit cramped. Not only is the Britax probably one of the safest carseats out there, its assembled right in Charlotte , NC but it is so easy to install. You have to check them out they are so great and they last forever!
4. Clothes that last! E was fortunate enough to get several boxes of her cousin's clothes and in it was a bunch of Hanna Andersson stuff. These clothes are made to last and they are amazingly cute! So, I ventured online and placed a post-Christmas order for E for the fall. I am so excited!!!
Also, this weekend I was reminded just hope precious life is. No need to go into details but sometimes I forget how blessed our little family is. So take some time out in your life and count all your blessings.

Christmas, Travels and SNOW
In no particular order...
I think the snow and Christmas were pretty much one big hectic event and the travel just kind of happened. So Lee, the beebster and I headed to Church Christmas Eve for Liturgy and a potluck. The Zs was particular great given the fact that it was way past she bedtime. The next morning was of course the First Day of Christmas. Excellent! E was slightly confused by it all and was way more interested in eating the wrapping paper and boxes. She scored some cute outfits, games and of course Dr. Seuss books! My mom made this insane breakfast bake which was gone with about 4 hours. Dinner was a treat because we ate using the fine China and silver. I think I can count on one hand how many times that has happened. So great times with the McV's without a doubt.
Then old man winter decided to make things super interesting for the RMT Christmas celebration on the Second Day of Christmas. Lee, the bibis and I packed up an headed back late Christmas night to beat out the snow storm. Usually it snows in NC and about 2-4 inches shuts things down. Well they were predicting 10-12 inches. Awesome. We made it home without problem the next morning was another story... It was Sunday so we figured if we were going to venture out and church is some what on the way to Lee's moms then what the heck.
We piled into Lee's massive work truck and hit the streets. It was quite snowy and we really expected to be the only ones there but low and behold the OLPH people were there complete with organ! It was impressive. Then off to the Kibbe Christmas. The food was great and E loves spending time with her cousins!!! Again she got some really fun toys and books and Puffs. I think the Puffs may have been one of E's favorite presents. She loves eating Puffs because they melt in her mouth, she can pick them up on her own and she can fit about 3 in her mouth on a good day.
15,5 inches of snow later we survive our first Christmas with a baby. For our next feat... traveling without the bibis. One of my good friends from UNC got married in New Orleans right before 2011 so Lee and I headed down south while E stayed with Grandpa Joe and Grammy. It was nice to not have her because she would have been horribly miserable and completely overstimulated but we definitely missed her! Lee and I hit Bourbon St, the Quarter Cafe DuMonte, Pat O'Briens etc etc and had a great time and great food.
We had a pretty quiet New Year's and 2011 has started peacefully so we are grateful for that. Lee has been keeping E at home because she is a rolling machine. I am hoping to work alot more from home and avoid putting her in daycare but we're still working out the details of that.
Oh and its snowing... again
****Blogger is really annoying me now with this pictures. For those of you who do not know me well enough I have very little patience for technology so you are going to have to match the pics with the events...
