An Interesting Saturday Read
My parents get the Wall Street Journal and since we stayed at their house last night we got to read the newspaper for the first time... in a while. There was a really interesting article - America's Baby Bust - about fertility rate in the US and comparing it to other countries. Basically the current fertility rate in the US is 1.93 which is below the necessary replacement rate of 2.1.
One of the most striking lines, "Here in America, white, college-educated women—a good proxy for the middle class—have a fertility rate of 1.6. America has its very own one-child policy."
